Ray of Hope

The purpose of the DV program is to stop the use of violent or controlling behavior, words, gestures, or actions. The program is both in English and Spanish, and is designed to enable participants to reflect on the violent behavior which brought him/her to the attention of the court and its impact on his/her significant others.

The Ray of Hope curriculum was developed by Anderson & Anderson. The curriculum consists of critical information regarding interviewing skills, race, ethnicity, culture and gender issues that can make the difference between effective and ineffective treatment of this and other populations. In addition, it provides a framework for understanding the goals for domestic violence group participants to effectively move them from lives of abusive behavior to lives consisting of healthy forms of interaction and communication.

The process:

  • Participant is court ordered and referred to participate in our DV program
  • Participant contacts CSF and makes an initial contact with CSF staff
  • The participant is required to bring the referral and an identification
  • CSF staff schedules an appointment to conduct an assessment
  • Participant is placed on a waiting list for the next available group session
  • For 26 weeks or otherwise indicated by the court, the participant attends hourly sessions once a week
  • Upon completion, the participant receives a certificate stating completion of the program
